Joe Ruggeri

Joe Ruggeri is a web designer/programmer at The Day in New London, Conn.

He has also served as the director of operations of the Newport International Film Festival (Dead link … RIP) in Newport, RI.

In his previous career incarnation, he was a reporter in his hometown of Newport, RI.

He currently lives with his cat, Filbert, in Newport, but both will be moving soon to Mystic. Ct. (Well, actually Stonington … but it’s damn close to Mystic).

Among the things Joe has done throughout his work life:

• Worked for several film festivals (Newport Int’l Film Festival, Barbados International Film Festival, Ojai Film Festival, Sonoma International Film Festival and Global Peace Film Festival) as a webmaster/designer and in operations & technical capacities.
• Taught high school students B&W darkroom photography in an after school arts program at the now-defunct Island Arts (Newport, RI).
• Served on the Board of Trustees for Island Arts.
• Taught web design classes at New England Institute of Technology and Northeastern University.
• Served as an executive producer of Alexandra Flood’s 2003 film “A Totally Minor Motion Picture.”
